Actress Navya Nair weds businessman

South Indian actror Navya Nair, noted for her roles in Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil films, tied the knot with businessman Santosh N. Menon at Cheppad near here on Thursday.

Ms. Nair, who began her movie career with the hit Malayalam movie ‘Ishtam’ in 2001 and went on to win the State Best Actress award the following year for her performance in ‘Nandanam’, has around five yet-to-be completed films in her bag as she tied the knot with Mr. Menon, vice-president of a Mumbai-based exporting firm and son of Narayana and Shantha Menon, originally hailing from Changanassery in Kottayam district.

Ms. Nair, a native of Muthukulam in Alappuzha, is the daughter of Raju, a BSNL employee, and Veena, a school teacher.

The wedding, conducted between 12 p.m. and 12.30 p.m. at the C.K.H.S.S. Grounds, Cheppad, was attended by over 1,500 people, including several film stars such as Suresh Gopi, Thilakan, KPAC Lalitha, Kaviyoor Ponnamma, Divya Unni, Menaka Suresh, Sona Nair, Tamil actor and director Cheran, apart from CPI(M) State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, Ministers G. Sudhakaran and Paloli Mohammedkutty, Kerala Congress (B) leader R. Balakrishna Pillai and his son K.B. Ganesh Kumar, among others.

Navya too going for a Marriage

Top actress now in Malayalam film industry Navya too going for a marriage. Her marriage will be from Changanasserry. Santhosh, son of K Narayana Menon and Santhamenon will be marrying her. He qualified MBA and now he is the vice President of of a Multi ational Company 'Sree Chakra Udyog Pvt. Ltd.' "All my marriage decissions are in a hurry" said Navya. Marriage will be within 3 months. She was busy with 3 films - 'Sadgamaya', which was directed by Harikumar, 'Dhrona', and with a Tamil Movie 'Gauravar'.

There is news that marriage arrangements are being made for Navya Nair. Because of this she has stopped acting in films. Navya Nair made her debut in Tamil film Azhagiya Theeye. She has acted in lot of films in Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Tamil films. But of late she has stopped acting in films. It is learnt that marriage arrangements are being made for her. The inner circle says that this is a love marriage. Because of this she is refusing to act in films. When asked Navya about this she said, “It is a fact that I had refused to act in a Tamil film which was made for Guinness Records as well as three Malayalam films. Now I am busy with some other work. For time being I cannot reveal what it is. I will reveal this shortly.’
