Katrina flies to New York for date with Ranbir!

While the whole world believes that Katrina is recuperating in London with her family, a reliable London source tells us that she is actually in New York.

Incidentally, Ranbir Kapoor is also in New York shooting for Sajid Nadiadwala’s Anjaana Anjaani. Coincidence? We don’t think so.

Post her surgery in Mumbai, Katrina flew off to London claiming to spend New Year’s Eve with her family. Katrina, who ushers in the New Year with her mother and siblings each year, was particularly thrilled about the family reunion this time round, because she was looking forward to playing with her sister’s little son. But apparently, family has been sidelined in favor of some companionship.

One can’t help but wonder how she planned to keep her jaunt to New York a secret. It’s a small, small world after all. When we called her grandmother’s place in London, a relative said, “Oh, but Katrina is in New York.”

However Katrina said, “I’m very much in London. It’s a joke in my family about me being in New York because I’m harassed by many calls.”

Katrina Kaif also skipped beau (or is it seriously ex-beau now) Salman Khan’s birthday in favour of New York. Ranbir and Katrina met on the sets of Raajneeti but their friendship really took off when they shot Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. For the last few months, Ranbir has been in an on-off relationship with Deepika Padukone while Katrina’s relationship with Salman Khan has slowly ground to a halt.

Kat’s Kapoor Saga

Neetu isn’t the first family member to discover the charms of Katrina.

Nor is it her son Ranbir Kapoor. Sources from the unit of Namastey London (2006) say that Rishi Kapoor spent a lot of his shooting time in London chatting with Kat. Chintu found her to be an amiable, sensible sort. Unit hands say that then Rishi also felt that Katrina was very much involved with Salman Khan. And he apparently told some unit members that Salman is a lucky guy for having such a nice girl like Katrina as his girl friend. If the gossip mills are to be believed, equations between Salman and Kat have changed today. However, Chintu still likes Katrina. So, in a way, Ranbir is just endorsing what his father already knew.

A lot has been said and written about the reason behind Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor’s split. From Ranbir’s ‘friendship’ with Katrina Kaif, to Ranbir’s charming ways with women, to Deepika’s possessive nature. One more reason which often made headlines is Ranbir’s mother, Neetu Kapoor’s so-called dislike of Deepika.

Deepika and Ranbir were in a serious relationship for nearly two years but during that time, she could never come close to Ranbir’s mom. No prizes for guessing that she must have tried several ways to win her over but failed in all her attempts.

While talking about Deepika, Neetu had said that right then Deepika was just Ranbir’s girlfriend, no more.

Meanwhile, it was reported that Ranbir and Katrina Kaif, his Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Raajneeti co-star have got closer.

However, the latest development in the Kapoor household is a very interesting one and bound to raise eyebrows. Neetu has developed a huge liking for Ranbir’s current squeeze, Katrina. The two ladies get along like a house on fire and think similarly on a host of subjects.

A source says, “Neetu and Katrina share a very warm relationship. Katrina respects Neetu a lot. On the other hand, Neetu feels that Katrina is a very well-mannered girl.”

Neetu too confirmed her liking for Katrina. She says, “Yeah. Katrina is a very nice girl. I am very fond of her.” However, when we asked her to say more about her fondness for Katrina, she clammed up.

It’s being whispered in Bollywood that 2009 could well mark the birth of Ranbir Kapoor, the film industry’s next superstar. He won accolades for Ayan Mukherjee’s Wake up Sid and Shimit Amin’s Rocket Singh-The Salesman of the Year. And, he rocked the box office with Raj Kumar Santoshi’s Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. Coming as he does from a family that has ruled the roost in Bollywood for 75 long years, the 28-year-old actor is likely to keep that legacy going in the coming decade.

As he embarks on a brand new calendar year Ranbir agrees that 2009 has been truly gratifying. “I hope I made my parents proud,’’ he says. Adding, “The industry and the audience have given me the kind of love and support that I didn’t think would happen. Honestly, I’m humbled and while I love all the compliments coming my way, my career has just begun. I want to continue doing good work — and if it gets the box office that Wake up Sid or Ajab... got, well I’m thrilled. However, I still believe in something like Rocket Singh. Jaideep Sahni and Shimit Amin are talented guys, they had a message to give in the film. And, I stand by it.’’

Ranbir admits that epithets like ‘superstar’ and the ‘next big thing’ make him delirious. “But it also means loads of responsibility,’’ he says. Refuting rumours that his remuneration has shot up to Rs12 crore, the actor says, “For an actor to talk about the money he charges is disrespectful. Honestly, the only thing that I truly want is for my work to get recognition. Money, fame, adulation will come; but it can never be the focal point of my existence. With modesty I must say that I haven’t grown up wanting anything. My parents gave me a privileged lifestyle. So how much money I charge can never be the deciding factor to gauge what heights I have scaled.’’

He is also well aware that the flip side of superstardom means that he will now live in a glass house with everything from his love life to his moods getting unwarranted attention. “I certainly don’t think discussing my relationships with my co-stars comes with the territory of stardom,’’ says the actor. “I will not talk about Deepika Padukone or Katrina Kaif. It is disrespectful to them as women and to their families. Who I date is really very personal.’’ So there you go. With the adulation, Ranbir has also got the attitude.

After the Ranbir-Deepika break-up became public, the number of meetings, phone calls and text messages between the duo have increased. Ranbir isn't even trying to conceal his new-found love for Kat. She too has moved on from Salman, and they are now "just friends" now they've decided that they have grown out of the relationship.

A source reveals that the Kapoor lad has been worried about his new girl after her recent bout of illness. He constantly calls to check on her health. A source adds, "He's extremely concerned about her health and has told her to take it easy.

Apart from sending her flowers and sweet messages, he's also been talking to her worried family abroad and telling them he will take care of her. Kat is very touched by his concern and has been telling friends how sweet he is."

However, the biggest indicator of the seriousness of this new relationship are Kat's visits to Ranbir's house. The source adds, "She's worked with his dad in Namastey London so there's a feeling of comfort. Ranbir is extremely close to his mom and doesn't do anything she won't approve. So getting her approval is extremely important for him."

Ranbir also gifted her a pendant recently, "This is something between them and only a few people. He sent her a pendant after Ajab was declared a hit. She has only told a very few people that it's from him."

Friends confirm that's its only a matter of time before the two make it official.

A source close to the actress rubbishes talks of Ranbir getting close to her. "Katrina has been keeping unwell for quite some time. All this buzz about Ranbir sending her flowers and text messages is untrue. In fact, they haven't even met up after the release of Ajab." Adding that Kat hasn't visited the Kapoor house, the source says, "She hasn't been to his house, neither is she close to his family. In fact, the only person who,s been by her side in the illness is Salman's mom." Talking about Ranbir giving her a pendant the source says, "The one pendant being assumed as Ranbir's gift is actually something picked from Hill Road, Bandra. Forget gifting her something, Ranbir hasn't even checked on her health ever since she fell sick."

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have taken their so-called friendship to the next level. The two bonded instantly when they first met on the sets of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani last year. And later on the sets of Prakash Jha's Rajneeti.

When their closeness was reported last year, they were both in relationships and they restrained themselves. Close friends reveal that they are totally into each other and find it extremely hard to keep their growing fondness for each other under wraps.

Katrina discharged after appendicitis surgery

Actress Katrina Kaif has been discharged from Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital after undergoing an operation for appendicitis.

Katrina was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday morning with severe stomachache.

Salman Khan visited the actor in hospital twice on Wednesday. It is believed Salman stayed with her for more than three hours both in the morning and evening.

This isn't Katrina's first brush with illness in the recent past. Last month, she was hospitalised after being diagnosed with jaundice, leading to her missing out on the promotion of De Dana Dan.

Katrina in love with Pattinson

Twilight star Robert Pattinson has swept our own Bollywood beauty Katrina Kaif completely off her feet. And if all goes well she’ll be meeting Pattinson during her annual holiday with her family in London next week.

The minute Katrina’s eyes fell on Pattinson she got hooked to the Twilight quartet. “I went and bought all the four books Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. I couldn’t put them down. And now Katrina wants to meet the real Edward Cullen. “You don’t understand. This is like an obsession for me. I can’t get Robert Pattinson out of my head. I see the love of my life in every object that moves or doesn’t move. I’ve never felt this way about any man before.”

Now a meeting between Bollywood’s blistering babe and Hollywood’s blood-thirsty heart-throb is discreetly being arranged. Though Katrina is not talking about it, her representatives are in touch with Robert Pattinson’s agent. It’s been made known to the global superstar that Bollywood’s eminently desirable Katrina Kaif would probably die of longing if the meeting doesn’t happen.

Says the besotted actress, “Obviously, I can’t stand under his window to get his attention. So yes, the meeting has to be more formal. He says he’s single. But I don’t believe him. That’s what they all say.”

Katrina unwell again

As her hemoglobin count continues to plummet, Katrina’s health is causing distress to all those who know her. Everyone around Katrina, well-wishers, co-stars, friends and family are beginning to be extremely worried about Katrina’s deteriorating health. On Sunday she was again at a suburban hospital to take further tests as her haemoglobin count continued to fall, despite treatment from the best doctors in the city. Though Katrina has been extremely selective recently about the appearances she makes, she is obviously still straining too much and it is affecting her adversely. On Sunday Katrina woke up unable to get out of bed. The worst blow to her frail energy level was the hectic wedding of Salman Khan’s close family-friend Krishan Narayan’s daughter which Katrina attended for two consecutive nights on Friday and Saturday for the sangeet and wedding. Forgetting her delicate health, Katrina had simply let herself go, dancing and having a good time. A friend explained, “It was a commitment she couldn’t wriggle out of. The bride’s father, an associate of politician Praful Patel, is a very close friend of Salman Khan. And Katrina who has always looked at Salman’s friends as her own, had to be there.” The result of two consecutive nights of merry-making was a relapse. On Sunday Katrina had to undergo a series of complicated medical tests that went on the whole day The friend continued, “Katrina’s haemoglobin count continues to plummet. The doctors are perplexed by this. They can’t figure out what is causing this abnormality in her blood. She has been prescribed complete bed rest.” When contacted, Katrina tried to dismiss her indisposition with. “I will be just fine. I just need to rest.”

Katrina is grounded!

Katrina Kaif’s taking it easy this year due to health reasons. But what the actress would have loved to do is take a break and travel. A friend of the actress says, “Katz loves exploring different places. She loves collecting souvenirs that remind her of that place. And more than the night life or partying she’s interested in knowing the customs and tradition of the place that she goes to.” Unfortunately for the actress, her recent health trouble has acted as a dampner on her travel plans.

When Katrina Kaif and Ranbir were promoting one of their upcoming movies, the press asked her to give a TV bite to wish Aishwarya on her birthday. The actress out right rejected and escaped from the place.

The reason apparently seems to be that Ash happens to be Salman’s ex girl friend and Katrina knows to which camp she belongs to Bollywood.

It now needs to be seen as to how the Bachchan camp reacts to this behavior from Katrina, it is known fact that the Bachchan’s are not the type to take things lying down !

Katrina Kaif showers praises on Ranbir Kapoor

Who is the idol of Katrina Kaif in Bollywood? The answer is actor Anil Kapoor. She has taken acting lessons from the actor. She has also praised showers on co-actor Ranbir Kapoor.






She said that Anil used to tell her mantra of concentrating on acting during the shooting of Humko Deewana Kar Gaye. She said this is the fact she would remember throughout her life as it would help her in acting.


Katrina feels that there is need to work a lot to gain experience as this helps in taking right decision and in choosing script and roles.


She is opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. Showering praises on Ranbir, she said he is passionate about his work and does not have ego. He is a good co-star, Katrina added.
