Genelia-Prithviraj in Santhosh Sivan Film

Santhosh Sivan is ready to debut as a film director according to sources. he proved his excellance as a camera man in many movies and Ravan was the latest one. This talented cinematographer had also worked on Tahaan: The Boy With A Grenade, featuring the duo Rahul Khanna and Rahul Bose.

He casred Genelia D’Souza and Prithviraj to play the lead pair in his new film. As sources reveal, the cinematographer-director is really excited as to know about the assailant of Vasco De Gama. Prithviraj, who is a big name in the South Indian film industry, would be playing the central character. Sivan also said that he is going to start Who Killed Vasco De Gama real soon. He plans to release it in trilingual versions of Hindi, English and Malayalam. He also has expressed his wish to have the same cast of stars in all three versions of the film. Prithviraj is now with handful of movies.

Asin’s bad is Genelia’s good!

A leading business paper has come out with the latest 2009 TAM AdEx data, which puts up Priyanka Chopra as India’s first woman to top the endorsement charts.

In the chart Mahendra Singh Dhoni is at number two followed by Kareena Kapoor and her lover Saif Ali Khan at number three and four. This year there are five women in the top 10. The shocking news is that Asin who featured among the top 10 in the endorsement chart last year, is missing from the list this year!

Among the 10 in this year’s list five are Bollywood leading ladies- Priyanka Chopra taking the crown, while the others are Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Genelia D’Souza.

It is a major blow for Asin, as arch rival Genelia who also came to Bollywood via south regional cinema has found a place in the list.

‘Jaane Tu…’ girl Genelia D Souza has revealed her secret crush. And mind you, it’s not Imran Khan or the man she’s been linked up with for long- Riteish Deshmukh.

It’s none other than our good old Johhny boy with whom she’s currently doing a film.

She says she’s been a fan of the actor for a while now and it was almost like a dream come true for her when she found herself sharing screen space with him in her next film, ‘Hook Ya Crook.’

She says it’s a crush which probably dates back to her college days when John attended the college fete.

The actress, who found her feet back in Bollywood after the success of ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’, is also working in films like ‘It’s My Life’ and ‘Life Partner’ with Harman Baweja and Fardeen Khan. And she’s grateful as she had almost disappeared from the B-Town radar after her 2003 debut ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam’ and even ‘Masti’ which was a success. She did fairly good work in the South thereafter.

And she has no problems about being cast in girl next door mould, much like ‘Masti’ co-star, Amrita Rao. She says she’s open to challenges and even open to doing an all out commercial film or even action movies.

She might not be an overnight sensation but she’s counting her blessing and happily doing her own thing. Genie baby has claimed to be different, thus far.

Harman Baweja needs Genelia but she wants Shahid

Two back-to-back flops and Harman Baweja seems to be creating insecurity even for his female co-stars! It is learnt that Genelia D’ Souza who stars opposite Harman in Anees Bazmee directed It’s My Life is trying her best to not have this film as her next release. She is wanting her Shahid Kapoor starrer Yahoo to come before It’s My Life.

Our source says, “Genelia D’Souza has had a bumper hit last year in Aamir Khan produced Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. But post that she has mostly been seen in TV commercials rather than feature films. She knows it well that the Shahid Kapoor film will create a bigger buzz and get her the publicity she needs, rather than a Harman starrer. And then of course Shahid Kapoor is also supposed to be sizzling hot property after Kaminey. That’s why Genelia is trying every trick in the book to delay It’s My Life.”

“She dily dallied allotting dates for the patchwork of It’s My Life and now she is not being co-operative for giving her dates for its dubbing. The matter seems to be going out of hand with Anees Bazmee apparently even threatening to get a professional dubbing artist dub instead of her if she doesn’t co-operate soon. But little does he know what her real reason is!” the source further adds.

Last heard, Genelia is said to have fallen sick! That means more wait for the It’s My Life makers.
