Popular Malayalam film actress Samyuktha Varma tied the nuptial knot with her long-standing beau, Biju Menon on November 21.
The marriage took place at the Thrissur Indoor Stadium in the presence of a large number of fans, well-wishers and prominent personalities from the film world.
Biju Menon’s gain will be Malayalam cinema’s loss as ‘Samyu’ has announced her decision to stop acting after marriage.
She will be following in the footsteps of another erstwhile Malayalam heroine Manju Warrier, who married Dileep, who is the current No I in Malayalam tinsel world.
Talented Samyuktha won critical acclaim in her first film itself. Her debut movie Veendum Chila Veetukaryangal fetched her the best actress award of the Kerala Government.
Ms Varma went on to act in a number of films that became immensely popular. She went on to win two best actress awards for her sensitive performances in Mazha and Madhuranombara Kattu.
A recent movie of hers, Thenkazhi Pattanam, turned out to be one of the all-time hits in the history of Malayalam cinema.
The marriage would mean that super star Mammootty will have to look for a new heroine in his upcoming movie “Chronic Bachelor”. This was one of the films from which Samyuktha had withdrawn.
